I just installed a ati radeon video card and need some help.?

I just bought an ati radeon video card and installed it as well as the software that came with it. My Screen keeps going completely black and I am getting a message saying "out of Range" is there something I have to do? anything helps at this point thanks!|||"Out of Range" means you are trying to use a video mode that your monitor doesn't support. It could either be caused by too high a refresh rate or a video resolution that your monitor doesn't support.

If it is going black as soon as you log in and you can never see anything, then you'll probably have to boot into safe mode and uninstall the video drivers.|||out of range means that your video card is trying to use an unsupported refresh rate. try uninstalling the driver, reboot, and install the driver again.|||i guess you forgot to uninstall the old driver. Reinstall the old graphics card, start the system and hopefully you can see again something on the screen.

If so, uninstall both graphics drivers, first the new one (from system control / uninstall software), then the old one (from device manager / driver / uninstall). Then shut down the system and install again the new graphics card. Start the system, and if god wants, you see something on the screen, then install the new graphics driver.

No warranty for success.
