NxTop Black screen: After installation of NxTop workstation, my screen goes black: ATI Radeon video card?

I installed NxTop Workstation on my Dell Inspirion M501r laptop for the first time, and upon booting, the blue NxTop comes up and then suddenly goes black as the monitor goes out. My video card is an ATI radeon video card. Does anyone know or have any resolutions to this issue.
